EST.1953

We have been edifying the body of Christ since 1953.

1953

Pastor Samuel Reed from Maplewood Community Church started a Sunday school in Brookside.

1968

After growing steadily, Brookside Community Church became an independent congregation.

1997

Maplewood Community Church became Horizon Baptist Church after acquiring the Grandview Hall and a parcel of land in Oakridge.

2011

Horizon launched its first campus, Horizon West (now Horizon Oakridge), marking the start of a multi-campus approach to reach more people with the message of hope and faith.

2018

Horizon expanded to the east and west. Horizon Lakeside launched at the Riverview Community Centre, and Horizon Riverdale continued the legacy of Riverdale Baptist Church.

2019

Horizon Central opened its doors to bring hope and faith to the heart of Maplewood City.

2025

After years of online services, people from around the world became part of an official campus: Horizon Online.
